Food is love. People cook for each other to help sustain their biological needs, cultural identity, and friendships. I’m not qualified enough as an amateur chef to invent new and amazing dishes, but I do have a knack for numbers and objectivity. So, I’ve decided that while my private relationship with food is cultural and emotional, my public relationship with food will be based on numbers.
Whenever a certain category of processed food goes on discount, I’ll purchase every single version of that food and assess them based on a set criteria to figure out which ones I like best for which occasions. These could include snacks, canned, food, drinks, or candy. Often, I’ll test-taste them alone, sometimes I’ll have a friend over as a guest reviewer, but I’ll always turn the numbers into a graph.
