This website has been online for more or less 3 years and I’ve managed to post at least twice a week, so far. I thought the 400-post milestone would be a good opportunity for a review of the travel and experiences from the last 5 years between 2016 to 2020. During that period, I lived between Europe, Asia, and the Americas for no more than a year at a time in any one place.

In between travelling, I’ve also managed to squeeze in time to learn how to use the basic features of WordPress. This is especially true when I had to perform an action other than writing, uploading photos, and publishing. For this post, I learned how to install the TablePress plugin and played around with tables.

Yes, this is also a shameless plug for links.

If I went back in time and told my 10-year-old self I’d go on all these adventures and have incredible experiences all over the world all on my own, the young me would be pretty confused. Sure, I wanted to travel, who doesn’t? But I would never have imagined that I could’ve done it this way.

In the process of travelling, I learned about history, culture, architecture, and languages. Though I learned a lot of knowledge, I also gained practical skills such as learning to live with less, became extremely thrifty while not sacrificing on comfort, and working while on the move. Most of my posts were written either on an airplane or during a train ride to save time and help preserve my memory by taking advantage of the recency of events.

As I begin my master program in Ottawa, I’m not sure how many of the good old days I’ll have left. I sure hope I don’t have to give up my passion for discovering the world anytime soon.
