Route: Toronto to Edmonton
Plane: A321-200
Date: Jan 18, 2025
Price: $306 + $150 eUpgrade (including a previous flight from Ottawa and three onward flights to Victoria)
Comfort
Modern, wide, and clean, the seats are the same as Air Canada’s B737 series. There’s plenty of storage for knick knacks, including an extra drinks tray in the centre armrest, a laptop pocket and a middle seat back pocket I use for trash. There is seat back recline, a retractable footrest and a leg rest. The headrest is height adjustable and has wings to rest on for sweet slumber.

In-flight entertainment
This particular A321 was the only one Air Canada modernized with external cameras and the ability to pair the seat-back screen with your own bluetooth earphones. In-flight wi-fi offers free texting for Aeroplan members and full internet access for an additional fee.
Food
For the third time this month, I had Air Canada’s parsley omelette with chicken sausage. It’s good and never gets old.

Service
14 of the 16 business class seats were occupied, so the flight attendant didn’t have the opportunity to address us by name. Nevertheless, I appreciated that she showed each passenger the menu on an iPad now that Air Canada stopped distributing paper menus on domestic business class.
