This small town between Berlin and Stettin has lost nearly half its population since the 1970’s. For that reason, it is a very quiet town indeed full of retirees and safe, albeit empty streets. It’s location on the Mündesee makes it a beautiful location for retirement. The vast lake and small town also makes the climate relatively mild with the large body of water regulating the temperature.

A small tourist information hut a little ways from the town’s Bahnhof will provide some useful information on what to see around town. Attractions include the Mündesee itself, the Holy Spirit Chapel, city walls with medieval defence systems, the town square, and the St. Mary’s Church.

Just going around to see them took only an hour by foot, so I got a Döner to enjoy by the lake, then chased a cat around the quiet streets on my way back to the Bahnhof for my connection back to Berlin.
