Except the Library of Congress, Massachusetts has two of the largest collections in the US. One in Harvard University and one in the Boston Public Library. Although its collection is immense, the impressive architecture is what draws people to the library from far and wide.

It’s an amazing public space that provides art to the masses. Art in the form of sculpted columns, painted vaulted ceilings, meaningful and storied murals, as well as well-designed pubic space in the form of courtyards and reading areas. It is an icon of downtown Boston and serves as an effective anchor for the surrounding office blocks.

As it sits just one block away from Newbury street making the entire area a surface-level shopping centre, or what the rest of the world calls normal streets – which are a rare gem in America. The area is complete with restaurants, commercial activity, shops, public services, and an underground tramway section.
