Delaware’s Old State House in the state capital Dover served its purpose from 1791 to 1933. The new state house is located across the street. Visiting and parking is free with guided tours available several times a day. Today, it is an education centre on the constitutional contributions of Delaware and its role in slavery.

It has expanded several times throughout the course of its use and then restored twice since 1976 to return it to its original appearance. Its location on the Green gave it a significant role in the town’s civic life. You can visit the old senate chamber and the old court room.
