Americans don’t have deep historical roots, their approach to history mirrors that of Catholic relics. None of those items have any historical significance apart from being associated with an event or a person.
I’d posit that a historically accurate model of Fort Sumter or a replica arrangement of Lincoln’s presidential desk would be more appropriate. The museum’s exhibition panels are an extract from the Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL, focused on the Civil War, emancipation, and his assassination.
