Anyone who has loved the Corning Museum of Glass in New York has to pop up to Toronto for the Gardiner Museum of ceramics. It displays ceramicware from all over the world throughout all periods of human history.

Porcelain was a luxury item during the 17th and 18th centuries and powers vied for masters to reveal their secrets. Imported porcelain from China and Japan was the finest in the world. The arrangement of exhibits in the museum reflects the truth of their times. It’s a great companion to the Royal Ontario Museum just across the street, so I wish they had combo tickets.
