At first, when I looked up the place in Cleveland I thought it would be a museum on maritime science and weather patterns of the Great Lakes, like the National Museum of the Great Lakes. But I was wrong. It’s just a family-oriented science museum located on the Great Lakes.

The centerpiece of the museum is the Apollo command module that brought astronauts back from Skylab, the space station before the International Space Station. You can ask staff to turn the light on for you to look inside. How often do you get to see inside a real used command module identical to the one that brought men back from the moon?

I also enjoyed the special exhibition on the science of rock and roll. It was the first special exhibition completely paid for by the museum and not on loan from another institution. Head next doors to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to see the cultural side of it.
