The Laurentian University in Sudbury is the largest higher educational institution in Northern Ontario. It was actually formed by a federation of Huntington College, University of Sudbury College, and Thornloe College. Its campus on the top of a hill offers a stunning view of Ramsey Lake, but I still like the beach at Bell Park more.
The bilingual university is also home to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, the only medical school in Northern Ontario. There’s also an art centre and a museum on campus that helps showcase Franco-Ontarian culture in the city.
