Isn’t it every child’s dream to visit Legoland? It was mine. Even though I lived in Berlin for a year, I didn’t have the opportunity to visit Legoland in Germany, which is where the toy originated. I had to wait until much later before I had an opportunity to visit Legoland Malaysia.
Apart from the obligatory overpriced hotel and a boutique with unique Lego creations, Legoland Malaysia also had a go-kart track with little lego cars for children and rides such as an observation wheel. Visitors could pay extra to access the water park to cool down in sweltering tropical summers, but I don’t like getting wet.
For those who don’t want to get wet, there’s a roller coaster, a theatre featuring a Lego film of the seasons, and many fans spraying cool water. So even if you don’t intend to get wet you’ll get wet anyway.
The Lego dioramas reminded me of Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany. After all, Lego is German and Germans love miniature everything. I appreciated this Legoland for featuring Southeast Asian creations such as Angkor Wat, Singapore, the Petronas Towers and Taj Mahal.
