Whenever you think of visiting Martigny, always take the train connection that takes you to Martigny-Bourg station right next to the Fondation Pierre Gianadda to see sculptures and outdoor art with the adjoining Automobile Museum with the original Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. On your way to Switzerland’s only museum dedicated to dogs, you’ll find an ancient Roman amphitheatre complete with renovated seating and a grassy stage area.

The Barry Foundation of the Great St. Bernard is a museum that shows photos and the history of the human relationship with the famous St. Bernard dog breed. You can see live St. Bernards in the museum and learn all about their myths and stories. The actual St. Bernard pass is actually 20km south of Martigny and can be reached by Post Bus.

The town doesn’t have too much to offer, but it does have an interesting urban plan of mixed used roads where cars and pedestrians share the same space.
