The Michigan Science Center is completely family oriented, meaning that it’s only fun for kids. It is not at all like the Canada Science and Technology Museum that is full of exhibits from different eras of technology. When there are interesting artifacts, such as the solar-powered car from 2008, there aren’t any interpretation signs at all. I was disappointed.

Almost every single exhibit is either illustrative, like the model of the Mackinac Bridge hanging across the atrium, or interactive, like the walk-in blast furnace. I’d say this is the perfect field trip for primary school science teachers to bring their class on an educational journey of learning by doing.

A couple of times a day, a scientist will perform a live experiment. A couple of times a week, a child will have their birthday party in the event space. A couple of times of never, I’m coming back.
