Easily reachable by S-Bahn and tram, the Reichsparteitagsgelände in Nürnberg consists of several monolithic structures over a large land area. The most famous of those buildings is the Zeppelinfeld where a Cathedral of Lights was set up during Nazi Party rallies to create a sense of religious fervour. Tens of thousands of soldiers once rallied here in the presence of prominent party leaders like Hitler and Himmler. The grand, empty steps still spook me to this day.

Across a frozen lake likes the unfinished Kongresshalle, once designated to become the congress hall of the Third Reich, it is the largest National Socialist structure that still stands to this day. Inside, visitors can enter one of five Nazi Documentation Centre in Germany and learn more about Nazi ideology and its effects on European people. Although the outside is lined with fine marble, the inside has exposed brick and looks rather naked.

Near the tram terminus, the Ehrenhalle is a memorial to fallen soldiers of the Great War. It was constructed during the Weimar period and should not be confused with the Nazi buildings nearby.
