You can see Dum Dum in real life but if you try to give him gum gum the guards will intercept you faster than you can say “Easter Island”. Featured in the “Night in the Museum” movie franchise, the Natural History Museum in New York City is free to enter.
Everything from the bones of dinosaurs from trillions of years ago to a blue whale caught in the last two lifetimes, the Natural History Museum has it all. What I was most impressed by was the size and detail of their recreations of scenes in the cold Canadian arctic and sweltering African savannahs with taxidermy animals.
There’s also a newer section dedicated to astronomy and geology. Fitting with the two themes of the museum, you will find stuffed animals placed next to “astronaut ice cream”.
