I was flying to Vancouver for the VSP in late May when I was seated next to a very kind stranger – Ocean. He is an expert application developer from Victoria (the capital of B.C.) and the proud owner of rolia.net. Rolia is a website connecting the Asian minority community of Canada together, especially its huge Chinese-Canadian community.

It is a useful resource for new arrivals to Canada as the forum boards contain everything from how to choose schools for immigrant children to converting a foreign driver’s license into a Canadian one. There’s even a board exclusively in Chinese for those who need it. I was so honored to meet a pillar of the Chinese-Canadian community and grateful for the work that he does for us.
