Quebec Route 381 connects two of the most scenic locations in La Belle Province. It traverses the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of the Laurentians to provide the shortest route between Saguenay and Baie-Saint-Paul. The entire route is 114km long and takes about an hour and a half to complete.

It was first opened to the public in 1849 but was closed lather that century and wasn’t reopened until 1935. There is a 76km stretch in the middle without gas stations when it passes through the Parc national des Grands-Jardins wildlife reserve. Be sure to go in with a full tank of fuel if you’d like to explore all the dirt roads in between.
