You can buy a combined admission ticket to both the Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum for a discount price. The secret is to go to Rockwell first, get the combined ticket, before going across the river to Corning to avoid a timed ticket. This way, you can enjoy both locations at your own pace.

The museum brings visitors through the American experience with fine art. Displays of Cowboys lassoing unruly cattle, stunning mountain landscapes, and Native Americans hunting buffalo. I’m a sucker for impressionism and enjoyed their display of the American version of it. It thought the gallery on light and how the use of artificial light was shown through paintings and ornate lamps was an excellent idea.

There aren’t just galleries of famous artists like Remington who painted the American west, there’s also a room dedicated to the local high school. Fashion, art, sculptures all painted by students finishing their last two years of schooling. Small town America is part of the experience.

There are activists for children as well, such as “I Spy” bookets and color wheels. If you’re in Corning for the glass, might as well come for the art.
