The biggest draw to Saint-Jérôme is its massive cathedral which is the largest in the Laurentians. The three-spired cathedral was constructed beginning in 1897 and opened in 1900. The church square has a skating rink in winter that circles a statue of Antoine Labelle, the priest who created this and 19 other parishes in the mountains.
Local sights include a triangular island with houses on it and a museum of contemporary art. To me, the biggest draw was their intermodal station served by local buses, regional buses, and a regional train line to Montreal. If I can take an hourly train to Quebec, it’d take it over driving.
