Compared to some of the other people I’ve written about in this section, I haven’t known Seth for too long. We got to know each other through a Christian Fellowship group in out first year of university then we discovered that we had the same love of adventure and same taste for cars. We both loved going fast and we both loved going far.
The first time I really got to know him was when I offered to host him for a week in my tiny little Soviet apartment in Berlin. It was that week where we visited Arctic Sweden by car and had to bear sitting next to each other for over 13 hours a day. We kept praying along the way to be able to see the northern lights and boy were we glad to see them! It was a tough ride, but it definitely strengthened our friendship.
He also came to Macau with me to bet on greyhound races before the Canidrome closed down permanently. He told me we wasn’t going to gamble, but after seeing me win four races in a row he just had to put down $20 on the fifth race.
