Comfort
European business class doesn’t get wider seats or more legroom, it’s just the regular economy seat with a neighbour-free guarantee. The E2 was slightly more comfortable than the A320 as it has a 2-2 layout instead of a 3-3 layout, guaranteeing each row only has one passenger on each side.

In-flight entertainment
There were no seat-back screens on board and no Wi-Fi. Instead, passengers were told they could download a variety magazines and newspapers for free ahead of their flight, including the Swiss in-flight magazine.

Food
Breakfast was a choice between an omelette or cereal with milk. I naturally chose the hot food option as I woke up at 3 a.m. and hadn’t eaten for four hours by the time breakfast was served. It came with a side of cheese, my choice of pastry, and a fruity quinoa. I ordered an apfelschorle that wasn’t available on the official menu, but a true Swiss will make it for you.

The service, however, was monumentally slow. The one flight attendant took 20 minutes to serve six passengers. My order hadn’t even been taken by the time the first passenger had finished his meal.

Service
The flight attendant offered bottled water and a wet towel as soon as business class passengers were settled. Front-cabin passengers also get exclusive use of the forward washroom while everyone else has to use the aft toilet.

I took a nap after breakfast and the flight attendant left me a chocolate and refilled my apfelschorle for me as a pre-landing snack when I woke up.
