Adorned in red velvet and gilded in golden paint, Geneva‘s Victoria Hall is one of the most opulent venues for music in Switzerland. I went during the Geneva Music Festival when all its events were free of charge. Though no costs were levied onto its audience, the performance was not discounted.
Widely known as one of the most acoustically satisfying venues in the world, the orchestra played in perfect harmony with the architecture. I revered their work that combined admirable passion with enviable talent.
The music from the Orchestre Nexus wasn’t just about the delivery of joyous melody, but also the transfer of acoustic passion from musician to audience. I can’t tell a bassoon from an oboe or a viola from a cello, but I know what love is.
