Snow capped peaks in June
A charming little ski resort town that is blessed with year-round snow cover, it is only two hours away from Vancouver by car. If you don’t have a car you can use Evo car sharing and they allow you to travel up to 250km away from Vancouver. You’ll have to pay a small fee to get the gondolas up the mountains to see the breathtaking view of the Rocky Mountains. You can even have a little snack in the canteen while you take in its full glory.

Gondola up Blackcombe Mountain
Somehow whenever I think of Whistler, Mr. Bean’s destruction of Whistler’s Mother comes into mind. Give yourself enough time to go up two or three gondolas to get your trouble’s worth of fun. You can see a copy of the Inunguat statue used as the logo for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. It may be summer when you visit but it’s still cold up there, so do remember to bring a jacket.
As expected, the shopping village below the peaks are a tourist trap and charge exorbitant prices for everything from water to snow boots. Save yourself some grief and save the shopping till you get to Tsawwassen or the duty free shops in the airport.

You know what that is!
