I imagine myself being Mayberry as I walked through the small town of Wolfville where everyone knows everyone else and there are no secrets beyond the first day of telling them. The two main banks in the town are still in their original 19th century buildings and the commercial area around Evangeline Trail looked like it did half a century ago.

It’s position on the Bay of Fundy makes it a prime location to see the tides. Arrive in the morning from Halifax for the high tide, breakfast and a campus tour of Acadia University. See nearby Grand Pré UNESCO World Heritage Site, visit a vineyard and the historic blockhouse at Fort Edwards in Windsor before coming back for lunch and staying for the low tide in the early afternoon. That’s what I did.
