Their use of a side-by-side comparison of perspectives confronts the Manifest Destiny narrative of American expansionism. Start your visit at the fourth floor and work your way down to get state-by-state and issue-by-issue highlights of what went wrong at every step of the way.
The second and third floors are focused on American Indian culture, history, mythology, and service to the country. I think it should be every American’s duty to learn what is taught in this museum, to understand how they came to live where they live and who they took their homes from. This is step one of reconciliation, I hope one day all lands taken will be returned in their original condition and the immigrants placed in reservations instead.
