Is a name that is needlessly long. It’s assumed that any museum of history in the capital would be a national museum about the country’s past.

In its well laid-put galleries, American racial identity, industry, democracy, and culture are deconstructed. But the ugly truth that the Americans the museum serve are more interested in Hollywood than they are in understanding democracy. There were fewer than ten people examining the women’s rights exhibit but scores crowded in the gallery with Star Wars’s C3PO.

If you’ve already visited museums specializing in industry like the Henry Ford Museum of Innovation in Detroit or human rights like the Canadian Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg, then you can expect to spend about an hour here perusing just the highlights.
