Edmonton has two claims to fame: being the aerodrome of freedom during WWII and the northernmost metropolis in North America. The Alberta Aviation museum has more information on the former and the Royal Alberta Museum on the latter. Apart from that, it’s a city full of boring NPCs from the Grand Theft Auto videogame.
“Man, you gonna have fun in that!” Exclaimed a man on a sidewalk to another man in a convertible Mini Cooper.
“Are you serious, you gonna arrest me for that?” Complained a man to a police officer as he was being handcuffed.
Those were just pedestrians. There are more cameras at motor intersections in Edmonton than there are cameras in a TV news studio. As a result, everyone drives five under the speed limit even though they’re on a massive 10 lane road. Add to that the flat, easy to render landscape, bunch of buildings in downtown tapering off to the suburbs, and constantly sunny weather to make Edmonton the perfect video game map.
