These are the Hardbite flavours I was introduced to as a frequent flier aboard Porter Airlines. I initially only liked the Walkers shortbread, but when they changed the brand of cookies they supplied I grew fonder of the thick, crunchy crisp. Although I still stuck with a coffee and a chocolate chip shortbread coffee for morning flights, I turned to Hardbite and beer on the evening trips home.

All Natural
Imitation: 4/10 I can’t taste the potato in this, just salt.
Desirability: 1/10 Bland.
Crunch: 5/10 Gives you something interesting to chew on during a flight, but nothing to write home about.
Appearance: 10/10 Exactly the correct tinge of yellow oil.

Total: 20/40 Keep these on the plane and out of the home.

Sea Salt & Pepper
Imitation: 10/10 Plenty of salt and plenty of pepper.
Desirability: 7/10 I can see myself having this with a meal, but not as a snack on its own with a can of pop.
Crunch: 5/10 Not noteworthy, but I wouldn’t write it off.
Appearance: 9/10 The sight of ground pepper is delightful.

Total: 31/40 A mealtime companion.

Rock Salt & Vinegar
Imitation: 6/10 Plenty of vinegar, not salty enough.
Desirability: 6/10 It’s an inoffensive airline snack, but I wouldn’t crave this at a party.
Crunch: 8/10 This bag looked to have more folded-up bit that make it super crunchy.
Appearance: 3/10 Virtually indistinguishable from other flavours.

Total: 23/40 Forgettable.
