There are railway crossings, water slides, and rollercoasters in West Edmonton Mall. It’s purported to be the largest shopping mall in the world until 2004 and claims to be the largest in North America. However, conflicting sources cite the Mall of America in Minneapolis as the largest. Regardless, Edmonton definitely has the weirdest.
There are two types of trains you could ride – the miniature one on tracks or a rubber-tired one along the corridor. There are multiple arcades, a mini golf centre, two food courts, and an imitation European street. You could live here if you wanted to in the hotel and spend days on end without leaving the complex. There’s an indoor Waterpark with a full-size tidal pool, a replica pirate ship, and an indoor skating rink. If you didn’t want to buy anything with your money you could even gamble it all away at the casino.
If you walked from one end to the other on the first floor and came back on the second floor you’d have walked nearly two kilometers. Choose where you park wisely.
