Smokin’ BBQ
Imitation: 3/10 If you’re looking for roasted vegetables, this is it. It has tomato and garlic. Unfortunately, most people associate barbecue with smoked wood and sizzling meat, but this has neither of those.
Desirability: 2/10 Inoffensive, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this.
Crunch: 8/10 Credit where credit is due, the thickness and air pockets are near-perfect.
Appearance: 10/10 The red and black specks that make this look like a barbecued crisp may be its only saving grace.

Total: 23/40 It’s okay, but not for the price.

Spicy Dill Pickle
Imitation: 5/10 There’s spicy but the dill pickle flavour sucks. Lays does a much better job for half the price.
Desirability: 1/10 If spicy is all it’s got, I want no part of it.
Crunch: 9/10 Very dry, very crunchy, lots of folded up bits.
Appearance: 7/10 I like the like black strands of what looks like spices, but the ingredients don’t list pickle.

Total: 23/40 Other brands do a much better job.

Avocado & Lime
Imitation: 8/10 I can feel the avocado texture and taste the lime, but I can’t find lime juice in the ingredients list.
Desirability: 6/10 It’s pretty good, but why wouldn’t I just eat an avocado?
Crunch: 6/10 It’s crunchy, but this is the wrong flavour for a crunchy snack.
Appearance: 3/10 Almost indistinguishable from other flavours.

Total: 23/40 Great taste, wrong application.

Wild Onion & Yogurt
Imitation: 10/10 The ingredients match the claimed flavour.
Desirability: 8/10 If this is an outdoorsy take on a natural flavour, I like it.
Crunch: 5/10 The oily texture on the crisps takes away from the crunchiness.
Appearance: 10/10 I see specks wild onion and oily bits of yogurt, works for the flavour but hard to clean off my hands.

Total: 33/40 It’s a shame they only sell this flavour in B.C. because I only bought one bag back form my trip.
