Jersey City lives in the shadow of New York City, but it does have some important sights often attributed to New York. I’ve been to the area four times in six months so I know some of the best spots to see the Big Apple’s skyline—Exchange Place is always a good bet day or night and very easy to access with PATH.

The 9-11 memorial at the end of Grand Street is right in view of the World Trade Center and is made with an original segment of twisted steel beam from the disaster site. The Colgate Palmolive world headquarters is along the waterfront as is Goldman Sachs, the tables building in downtown Jersey City. Ellis Island is only connected to the mainland via New Jersey and the bulk of the island belongs to Jersey City.

Liberty State Park is the best place to look at the Statue of Liberty from land and has free parking and great cycling paths. There’s Liberty Science Center, Liberty National Monument, Liberty High School and Liberty Industrial Park—maybe that’s why they named fake New York in GTA Liberty City.
