This museum in Raleigh is deceptively large. There are four floors of exhibits across two buildings and a decent visit will take over an hour. I didn’t have that kind of time so I’ll just give you the highlights.

The top floor is the cafe and Arthropod Zoo, so sea and land creatures with right legs instead of six for insects, you can see what a real butterfly larva looks like along a caterpillar’s way to adulthood. The fourth floor has an Acrocanthosaurus skeleton, geology exhibits, and astronomy. The second floor exhibits weather, biodiversity, and marine animals. The ground floor has a few taxidermy animals and a gift shop.
There’s an IMAX theatre and a large globe outside, but I don’t know why the theatre isn’t inside the aptly-shaped globe.
